methodological basis of our courses

AIMS AND EXPECTED RESULTS

The main aim of our trainings is to prepare our students to be able to use foreign languages in an active and effective way - both in their professional and private lives.

Throughout the course, we develop learners’ communicative skills in a foreign language, seen as:
- achieving the level of language competence which enables effective communication at work with special emphasis on learners’ professional needs;
- developing skills necessary for preparing presentations, offers, financial analysis and statements, business correspondence and telephoning in a foreign language.

TEACHING METHODS

Our methods are closely related to students’ needs and course aims. Our methods are based on communicative approach (eclectic form – combining elements of conventional and unconventional methods as well as techniques worked out by earlier methods). The emphasis is put on the ability of effective communication.

IN THE LESSON

The primary aim of our courses is teaching how to use new structures and vocabulary in practice. New material is presented in context. It is assimilated through active participation in various situations related to everyday life. Learners’ work takes different forms in the lesson: individual and pair work, group work, debates, projects, presentations, role-plays.

LANGUAGE LEVELS

We run courses at all levels of language competence. Our benchmark for defining the level of language proficiency and the language skills description is European standards based on CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference).
